St. Bartholomew, Apostle

(This saint is commemorated on 11 June by the Eastern Church and on 25 August by Western Orthodox).

The Collect (According to Book of Common Prayer - Orthodox Catholic usage):
O Almighty and everlasting God, who disdst give to thine Apostle Bartholomew grace truly to believe and to preach the Word: grant, we beseech thee, unto thy Church; to love that Word which he believed, and both to preach and receive the same. Through Jesus Christ thy Son, our Lord: Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
